Alt Media Studios celebrated National Small Business Week in the community by hosting a livestream from Google today!
We want to thank Crystal Barmore, Director of Sales and her team at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Mayfield Heights, Ohio for their hospitality and great job in making us feel welcome. It was a great environment for hosting Google's livestream event.
Stasia Kudrez from Google's HQ presented the information. What were the takeaways?
1) Ask a question by typing it into search, hit Enter (let the search perform)
2) Google Ads run an auction
3) Eligible ads compete for search placement, positioned above and below the page
4) Searchers take an action (i.e., go to web page, call company on button)
Ad rank is a very complicated mechanism and is calculated by (among other things) ad rank and location of person's search.
Stasia discussed what things goals should include (i.e., be realistic, be specific, etc.)

For companies that don't sell products on their website...goals might include lead generation, request for quote, setting up an appointment (i.e., search campaigns)
Spotlight on video campaigns (YouTube and across Google Display Network)
Bumper ads - 6 seconds, really short but help with branding. Can't skip them.
Finally, Local Services by Google was discussed. For that specific area, service providers are contacted directly from the ad either by calling or emailing. All major tradesman. Tracking numbers are included with the ad to see how many contacts come in. They look alot like Google My Business pages with reviews and rating.
